I've been caught up in the Rush Fifty Something Tour. A bit less as a fan boy, more from my grief story.

The legendary Rush drummer Neil Peart passed away on January 2020. A friend of mine who is a 100% Rush head called me. He was part of my grief community. He shared that Peart had written a number of books which are free as Audible downloads.

As you all know, Peart's passing was the passing of the Rush. Not to be replaced. Well, fast forward to 2026, and they announce The Fifty Something Tour with the drummer Anika Nilles. I got caught up in this rebirth of Rush and snippets of her playing.

At the same time, I remembered one of the books my friend shared with me was Peart's "Ghost Rider: Travels on the Healing Road". (His personal, in real-time grief journey.) That book and CS Lewis's essay "A Grief Observed" were so important to me in my grief journey and work. I recalled in January 2020 that I wrote a post: The Bookends of My Grief.

There is magic in memories. Magic in revisiting the what, where, when, and why of life events, big and small. Anika Nilles, Rush Tour, Peart's passing, and my own always-seeking narrative and meaning in moments brought me to reshare this.
